*American Merchant Marine Veterans Assn Update*
American Merchant Marine Veterans Assn AMMV, is holding their annual convention here at the WWII Museum April 19-21st. There is a joint dinner with the Council of Master Mariners Friday night and a dinner cruise Saturday night on the creole queen . At the Friday night dinner we are honoring Ralph Crump 46’ who has not gotten his gold medal as a WWII mariner. All details are on the AMMV.us website and we need local grads to make an effort for Friday dinner. Ralph was the force to create the merchant marine exhibit at the museum. And we need local grads to join and support AMMV as their focus is slowly shifting to Korea, Vietnam and the Gulf wars to get the Mariners recognized.
Anyone wishing to attend the AMMV convention and Friday night dinner with CAMM needs to go to the www.ammv.us website and sign up. As far as the Creole Queen dinner cruise, to book their dinner reservations for www.bigeasy.com and put in order # 415262 and if customer # is required it is 81618 and the discounted price for the AMMV group is $80/head. If anyone wants to park at the Higgins hotel, there will be a bus which is $18 RT/person.
We are also looking for sponsors for the WWII Merchant Marine vets for the dinner cruise.Contact Ron Campana for more details ships@cox.net
